Academic Life
Cape Breton University (CBU) makes its home in Sydney, Nova Scotia, on Canada’s stunning east coast.
A small campus of 3400 students is as big as the world: our population represents more than 40 countries. Faculty, students and graduates are recognized nationally and internationally, supported by a strong culture of academic inquiry and innovation.
CBU students seem to like their university: graduates have ranked their overall educational experience, teaching and instruction as number one in Canada (Maclean's University Graduate Satisfaction Survey). We also have the second highest graduation rate in the Canadian university system.
CSEE is affiliated with the School of Science and Technology, which has more than 70 faculty and staff, with concentrations that range from biodiversity to engineering to environmental studies.
CSEE connects to the School of Arts and Social Sciences through a focus on cultural sustainability. CSEE also links to the Shannon School of Business, which already incorporates environmental business and ethics practices into certain courses. The School of Professional Studies offers a broad range of collaborative possibilities associated with many of its disciplines.
CSEE is a strategic resource that integrates with the entire campus community. CSEE addresses complex problems; it will take an array of talent to solve them.
